Road trip through Kawarau Gorge to Lindis Pass. Clear day can see Mount Cook, New Zealand’s tallest mountain. At the end of Lake Tekapo is a local church built by Christians. A local resident shared the history and stories.
The evening we were entertained by local residents, Angie and Stan Taylor. Their home for dinner topped off with a Pavlova experience. Awesome!
Next, crossing over the Southern Alps over Burkes Pass we arrive at Akaunui Historic House and Gardens. Established 100 years ago. After touring beautiful flower gardens and a variety of apple trees, a wonderful lunch was prepared by the local residents.
